The 2027 Budget was announced in the Dáil on 6 October 2026, bringing a wide range of changes across business, personal tax, housing and general society.
For businesses, the minimum wage rises, offset by a higher employer PRSI threshold, while capital gains tax is reduced. The R&D credit is enhanced and the Knowledge Development Box extended.
For individuals, the standard rate band widens, personal and employee credits increase, and all three inheritance tax thresholds rise. A new tax-free investment account is introduced, with exit tax on existing funds reduced.
Households benefit from a higher rent tax credit, an increased Help to Buy, and cheaper childcare with maximum fees falling. Core welfare rates also rise.
