Julian started Abac in 1998; he is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and some of his other qualifications include Business Coaching, Sage Accounts Trainer, Sage Payroll Trainer, IT qualifications, Auditing Qualification, Business Mentor and Business Leadership. Julian’s strength is in helping others achieve their full potential, which is often more than they think they can achieve. Julian aims to split his work time over three activities:
- Helping Clients achieve their goals while maximising their wealth and minimising their taxes.
- Helping staff to be the best professional business person they can be.
- Helping Abac achieve steps 1 and 2 while ensuring that all aspects of the business run smoothly, it is profitable, is constantly developing and that Julian himself is improving as a business person.
In his spare time Julian loves anything to do with business or self improvement: books, TV shows, newspaper articles. Outside of work Julian enjoys running, practicing Karate and spending time with friends and family.
Marie joined Abac in 2008 having already qualified with a BA Hons in Business Studies, a Foundation Degree in Construction Engineering and an OCR Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. Having already worked in the construction industry Marie has a keen interest in contractor and subcontractors accounts. She currently heads up the sole trader and partnership accounts department and the preparation and analysis of income and expenditure accounts.
Marie sat and passed her final Chartered Accountants Ireland exams in 2011 and became a fully qualified Chartered Accountant in November 2012.
In her spare time Marie enjoys keeping fit, spending time with her family and socialising with her friends.
Allison joined us in July 2010 as a qualified Accounting Technician.
Allison has been in private practice since 2007 and during this time has gained a wealth of experience with both companies and sole traders. Allison now heads up our corporate department and is continuing her development through the chartered certified accountancy exams as well as being a member of the Institute of Financial Accountants.
Allison enjoys spending her spare time with family, socialising with friends and shopping.
Ciara joined Abac in April 2009 bringing eleven years experience as a manager in the charitable sector and a BA in Psychology and Media. She is currently responsible for the practice affairs including in-house Payroll, VAT and monthly accounts.
Ciara undertook the Accounting Technician’s Ireland qualification and qualified in May 2011. She works in the practice on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
When Ciara is not working she enjoys walking, reading and baking.
Kerry graduated with a BA (Hons) in Accounting in 2005. Kerry started her training with Abac in 2008 and has experience in VAT, PAYE, Sole Traders and now Companies.
Kerry sat and passed the Chartered Accountants Ireland exams in 2013 and became a fully qualified chartered accountant in 2014. She takes responsibility for filing all the Company Annual returns and other statutory duties as well as being actively involved in all other aspects of the Corporate team.
In her spare time Kerry likes walking, cycling and general outdoor activities.
Paula joined us in 2007 to head up our VAT department. She is our current VAT accountant, qualified with a BA (Hons) in Business Studies and brought to Abac an Accounts Manufacturing background and Payroll Bureaux Experience. She currently takes responsibility for all the VAT Queries, VAT planning, VAT returns, EC Sales, Intrastat returns for companies and Individuals both North and South.
Paula has headed up both the VAT and PAYE department in the past and also covers for the PAYE department when they need help. She trains new staff on VAT, PAYE and CIS in house, does one to one Sage Training onsite for our clients and also runs courses in VAT for new and growing businesses.
Paula manages her work life balance by working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Receptionist and bookkeeper
Sandra is the face of Abac and is normally the first person you deal with. Sandra loves to deal with clients personally or on the phone. As well as the important role of looking after clients queries and directing them to someone who can help, she processes all the practice invoices, bookkeeping duties and is Julian’s personal assistant.
Sandra comes with over 20 years office experience including a retail background, joining Abac in 2005. She enjoys reading, socialising and going to the gym in her spare time.
Vicki joined Abac in July 2013, having qualified with a BSc (Hons) degree in Accountancy. Prior to working with Abac, Vicki worked in retail management before joining a practice in 2011.
She sat and passed her Chartered Accountant Ireland final admitting exams in November 2014 & become a fully qualified chartered accountant in February 2016.
In her spare time, Vicki enjoys socialising with friends & family, keeping fit & baking.
After qualifying with a BSc (Hons) degree in Accounting from Jordanstown, Emer joined the practice in January 2014 having previously spent four years in industry preparing VAT, PAYE and management accounts.
Emer sat and passed her final two ACCA exams in December 2014 and became a fully qualified chartered certified accountant with Abac in February 2015.
In her spare time, Emer enjoys keeping fit, spending time with family & friends and taking an active role in her parish SVP Society.
After completing her Accounting Technician exams in May 2014 at South West College, Emma joined the team in January 2015 and is a fully qualified Accounting Technician.
She joins the business with a BSc Retail, Marketing and Customer Service Management and has several years’ experience working in retail. Our clients’ VAT and PAYE affairs are taken care of by Emma.
Outside of work Emma enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and going to see live music.
Kim joined Abac in April 2015 with a BA(Hons) Degree in Banking and Finance and is a qualified Accounting Technician.
Prior to joining Abac, Kim worked for eleven years with HM Revenue and Customs and brings to Abac her experience and knowledge of Self-Assessment and Tax Credits. Kim currnently takes responibility for all Working Tax Credits claims and renewals.
In her spare time Kim enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking and playing her guitar.
Leanne joined Abac in October 2015, and completed her Accounting Technicians course at South West College in October 2016. She is currently training to become a fully qualified Chartered Accountant.
Leanne has a BSc in Criminology and Forensic Science and has previously worked in retail, bars and the customer service sector.
In her spare time, Leanne enjoys socialising with friends and family and going to see live music.
Paul joined the team in November 2016 with a BA (Hons) in Accounting & Finance. Prior to joining Abac, Paul worked in the Insolvency sector for two years.
He is currently completing the Accounting Technicians qualification at South West College and is working towards gaining the relevant experience to become fully qualified.
In his spare time, Paul enjoys running, football & travelling.
Eoin brings 10 years experience of working in practice when he joined Abac in July 2017.
He is currently continuing his development through the chartered certified accountancy exams.
In his spare time, Eoin enjoys spending time with family, playing football and running.
After qualifying with a BSc (Hons) degree in Accountancy at Queen’s University Belfast, Alison furthered her professional accounting career by becoming a qualified Chartered Accountant in 2017. Alison is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 8 years practical experience in accounts, tax, audit and consultancy when she joined Abac in July 2017. Alison is taking a lead on business consultancy and is very driven to help clients improve and develop their business. Alison is from a farming background and enjoys spending time with her family.
